This year our Rise & Shine Club takes place from Monday 6th to Friday 10th August. Pre-School children (3-4s) start at 10.30am, and those entering P1 to S2 start at 9.30am, all finishing at 12.30pm. For the older teenagers, from S3 upwards, we have 3 EVENING SESSIONS … Wednesday to Friday at 7.30pm.
Being an Olympic year, the Scripture Union’s holiday club theme is a sporty one … “On Your Marks“, with teaching based on Mark’s Gospel. As in previous years, our morning programme includes:-
Aerobics, Drama, Bible Bite, Tuck Shop, Crafts, Games/Dance/Football, and Group Songs
All leaders have fulfilled the Disclosure Scotland requirements, and all children are welcomed into our club which has been running for over 30 years. On the Friday evening we have our closing service to which all parents and friends are invited and all the children take part in song, dance etc. This is a well-attended and lively service after which everyone can view the excellent craftwork made by each age group before it’s taken home.
Finally, there is an invitation to all children who don’t have a church connection to come along to our Get-together Party on Sunday morning (19th August) when they can see themselves in the DVD of the closing service, and be encouraged to come along to our Young People’s Church (each Sunday morning at 11am for Beginners, Primary, Juniors, Youth Group, as well as the evening Youth Group which meets at 6.15-8pm). We are grateful to Croftfoot Primary School who distribute to all the children the leaflets advertising our club.
